Salomon Snowboards Artwork Contest

In 2003, Salomon launched his first Snowboard Artwork Contest. The idea of this site was to allow talented artists to win an award, but also to benefit from international exposure of their artwork during trade shows and expositions. The goal of the artwork contest is to offer a platform that reveals new talents. If a snowboard has been chosen as the means of expression, it is because the practice is full of sensations like that of skateboarding since the 80's : a liberating experience. To express this sensation, this diversity of style in the freedom of expression, it seems evident that we must let a sick mix of radical graphics, refined illustrations, obnoxious art and superb imagery be exposed. For the past 3 years, hundreds of artists, designers, graphic artists have participated in this contest. A very particular attention is brought to works done using traditional techniques adapted to the composition of a board. The graphics where the illustrations are done by hand (gluing, sewing, clay, paint...), the fusion of ideas and graphic concepts (mix of photos, paint, vector graphics...) are such means that we value on this site. Prizes:For the 3 first winners:1000 euro and a Salomon snowboard as a reward.
