The ADD'S Shoe Designs for 2006

ADD'S is offering mainly its own take on life and so its own kind of look, taking elements apart and reassembling them, with a creative perspective. A sort of philosophy where nothing is forced and nothing is taken for granted.The ADD'S collection includes single shoes, modular clothing and multifunctional accessories, designed to offer the possibility of creating garments that are always different and totally personal.


ADD'S Women's Wear Spring / Summer 2006

Form, Matter, Elements

ADD'S spring-summer 2006 range for women includes: six lines of footwear, all single, three in leather, one in linen, one in shantung and one in straw, all the same "Babù" babouche model with the ADD'S unique moustache icon on the front. A line of single thong sandals with a leather moustache. The first line of modular T-shirts, in cotton-linen. Two lines of bags, in leather and in linen, in a model that looks like one and is actually. All articles are rigorously Made in Italy with Italian materials, and with assured attention to look and function design and quality. So ADD'S opted for some cutting-edge choices, like using digital print technique, already experimented successfully in the last winter collection. Or, for several lines of footwear, the introduction of a sole in TPU, a material featuring glass-look transparency, but which is unbeatable in terms of resistance and flexibility.

Shoes

Basic - this is where we start: ADD'S firstborn: a flat, comfortable shoe, leather, with a rounded shape and a revolutionary character. The base is one colour, with a choice of lots of shades, with the ADD'S "moustache" accompanied by an embroidered geometrical motif (wave, drop or hoop). The single shoe par excellence and its uniqueness is best expressed when worn as a pair: because identical colour and design of right and left just don't exist.

Canvas - linen-fresh: Linen has always been the voice of cool and practical elegance. Now it's originality and freedom too, thanks to this light, ethnic chic line, with a hint of spring about it.
The first line of ADD'S Shoes linen comprises single monochrome items in black, green, blue and orange, with the "moustache" and an embroidered geometrical motif (wave, drop or hoop). Of course symmetry is out of the question here, too: freedom rules.

Shantung - oriental charm: Colour plays with light in the exotic, weightless shantung line, creating a shimmer that makes this as-always single, asymmetrical footwear change at every step. The monochrome base, in green apple, blue light, lilae, yellow, light green and fuchsia, has the moustache logo and an embroidered white geometrical motif (wave, drop or hoop).

Straw - long live ethnicity: The most intriguing and original of the collection. A woven vamp in straw and wool shades of orange, azure, burgundy and multicoloured. Focus on the viscose lining and tobacco colour split leather for the insole, edging and geometrical motif (in this case appliquéd to the upper).

Fever - split personality: Possibly the "liveliest" of ADD'S new range. All thanks to a special material: leather treated to achieve the fluid Barbour effect: the colour acquires shine when it heats and turns matte when it cools. The preferred effect can be achieved with a brush, or by leaving time and use to create the mood for each shoe.

Contrasting nuances are used for shoe uppers (blue or red) and backs (black or green), with the moustache and motif (wave or hoop) embroidered in white. An abundance of matches can be created, based on a far-from casual system of colour allusions: because this is a game and all games have rules.

Prints - a class of their own: The digital print line is back for the winter collection, with the concept of a totally unique footwear item, whatever its potential for matching. Guaranteed results for this line, from the casual cut of the leather and the Maya (on red, green or turquoise base) and Peacock patterns. And there's more to this game. The alternating wave, drop or hoop geometrical motifs are back, in white, like the moustache and all the finishes.

Hot news, however, is the transparent sole, showing the same serigraph on the underside and on the exterior of the shoe, but in different colours. Go for two Maya red shoes, for instance, and there'll be a "wave" motif and a sole with a green Maya underside on the right, but on the left, a "drop" motif and turquoise Maya underside. Or why not combine the soles, wearing the two-tone on the outside. Or even crisscross the combination to right outside-left sole? The only certainty is that the result will be unique.

Thong - unique inside: The real newcomer to this collection is the single thong sandal line. It's back with the transparent sole and red and pale blue Maya serigraph, with the ADD'S moustache in black or white kid. Or if anyone prefers the Peacock serigraph and the moustache in cord, they can always sneak a look at the men's collection: the model is slightly different but it's a unisex style.

In the full summer version of this collection the asymmetry is less striking, but just as strong, using contrasts and allusions for the upper, "moustache", insole and serigraphic sole.

Wear & Live

T-ADD'S - whole halves: ADD'S-thinking gets into the closet with an ultra-new line of T-shirts in cotton-linen mix, in sleeveless, short and long-sleeved versions. Half T-shirts to be more precise: there are right halves and left halves, all scrupulously different, in red, turquoise and green with contrasting ADD'S "moustache". The sections are easy to join and separate thanks to a tape fitted with poppers down the centre of the garment: a system that guarantees each combination is truly practical, wearable and striking. Of course, there's no reason why a long-sleeved half shouldn't be worn with a short-sleeved or sleeveless half: go with the flow every day!

Bag - full of surprises: Third arrival at ADD'S is the modular bag. This is a casual unisex item, satchel-style, but designed to turn into a shopper by simply removing the flap. This is a clutch or a butt-pack that can be worn at the waist using the bag's shoulder strap, which can also be used on its own as a belt.

A detail: the belt/strap hook is the same sort of device used for aircraft safety belts. The bag comes in a digital-print leather line (Maya on red, green or turquoise) + techno fabric, and in a linen line (green, blue and orange) + floral fabric.

Tomorrow

In the beginning was the single shoe. ADD'S, however, is more a way of thinking than anything else, a vision of the universe that leads to a rediscovery and valorisation of elements so they can be turned into design objects. If this is the basic concept, ADD'S is making progress, and is now moving more than ever towards a total look, promoting ideals of style freedom and independence, using asymmetry and creativity as its tools. Yet precisely because the underpinning of all the collections has a universal nature, we can be justified in expecting a huge range of offerings: furniture, jewellery, art ... and potentially in all forms of human expression.

Fashion season is changing and ADD's is pleased to present a volley of new articles in his Autumn / Winter collection. Shoes, single, unique and flexible accessories will let every single woman discover and fulfil her unique personal style.

All the proposals for the ADD'S woman
Autumn-Winter collection presents: 4 lines of shoes that play and reinterpret 2 new models:

--FLOR, a low-heeled ankle-boot with a front and a back part linked together by a button on the frontal section and a fastener to close on the back on each side (COBRA). The two parts can be kept open to form a cuff or you can hold them together with a lace (already provided with the model "Hand Painted")

--BABU', low-heeled shoe, winter model of our first "babouche" type.

--2 our new accessories: the "cuissarde" stockings and the muffs

--3 the key elements of our collection to free each woman's fantasy are: linings, wear ability and pairing off (but not in the common sense)

--1 and last but not least the smudge that characterizes our ADD'S products

Hand Painted - Ikebana: the Art of Making up the Look
FLOR, in black leather with a proper black button is the outstanding example of the line. ADD'S smudge is copper coloured, hand painted without drawings.

The lining is made of a jacquard damask cloth with a lily pattern and six stripes in different colours: fuchsia, yellow, red, green, blue and black. The cloth is randomly cut so that each piece is unique: once you wear cuffed boot you get an unusual and evocative effect that reminds you of a bunch of flowers. As it is a limited edition, each piece will be numbered and sold in an exclusive packaging.

NABUK - Water, Earth, Fire
Colour is again on top, this time on the outer side, for our line NABUK, where you find both Flor and Babù. The footwear is made of nubuk and you find three colours on it matched with a precise order (one for the front, one for the back and one for the circled spot on top). In details the front will be available in red and cacao, the back and the circled spot in orange and blue-green. The lining is jacquard striped in blue-green silk on burnt red wool, while the button of Flor is a nickel ring.

We present 4 footwear for each model and the combinations are all possible: of course you will never have two Flor or two Babù perfectly alike in the choice of forms and colours, but you can always have at least two colours on your feet even if in a different part of the shoe. You can also dare wear a Flor and a Babù. In this case you'll have the symmetry of the colours and we encourage this choice for the brave ones granting a special discount on the TRIS set.

Printed - ADD'S Writes the Fashion
Still Flor and Babù, made of "printed" leather with an original pattern: "Projects notes" that represents a page of notes by ADD PROJECT printed at random and irregularly. The digital print offers the advantage of high resolution and legibility, always white on a coloured base: black, green, red, blue-green. As the drawing of a circle or wave the ADD'S smudge is sewed in white, the inner side is black, pleated velvet for Flor, leather for Babù, black and full the button for Flor. Even in this case, each footwear is a unique piece, thanks to the randomly cut of the leather and to the consequent different position of the written pieces.

Basic - Simply Unique
Flor is made of black leather, with a ringed button in the same shade. The front part is decorated only by a white ADD'S smudge, sewed on. Chic minimalism on the outer part, showing a coloured and bright personality in the inner part, jacquard lined with fan patterned in the shades of fuchsia, yellow, red, green, blue and black. Also for this footwear the oneness lies in the inner part. The matching, made by chance, is to be showed off. Just turn the lapel out to free a very original explosion of colours.

Stocking and Muffs - Single to Avoid the Monotony
ADD'S presents a new phase for his peculiar project: cotton muffs and woollen stockings in a single packaging .They are available in the colours used for Nabuk and matched in different combination of smudges, circles and backgrounds, or only black with the smudge in a contrasting colour. You can find the same chromatic scale only on the same side both for the muffs and the stockings, but between the right and the left one the symmetry is maintained only for the pattern but not for the colours. All is thought to create a rich and exact game of recalls, in particular with Nabuk shoes. Watch out! On the palms of the muffs and on the soles of the stockings the label Left and Right is recommended.

Materials, Technologies and Design
All ADD'S articles are made of high quality materials and they are exclusively made in Italy.

The innovation involves both the design and the technologies: it is brand new the dyeing techniques used for the line Hand Painted, resistant to wear and tear but still appealing, it is also brand new the digital printing on leather for the line Printed. In the design the originality and the oneness of each article combines with the research of the quality of the materials and the functionality of the product.
