Cyclepods A New Form of Cycle Storage

Cyclepods: A New Form of Cycle Storage

January 10, 2006  |  Levent OZLER

Specifiers of cycle parking no longer need to worry about putting unattractive "toast rack style" cycle parking outside their Buildings and facilities.

Thanks to James Steward of Built From Scratch Design Ltd, There is now the choice of Cyclepods; An innovative modern vertical cycle storage unit that stores 8 bikes within a 2 meter diameter.

The bikes are stored vertically on their rear wheel around a central axis, this method maximizes space and also helps give the design its modern contemporary form.

Not only is this design great for Architects, Local Authorities, Developers and retailers but also cyclists now no longer need to be put off by lack of secure storage for their bikes thanks to the revolutionary design.

Unlike other cycle storage units, Cyclepods enables the cyclist to lock both the bike frame and the front wheel to the unit fastening the most expensive and most highly targeted part of the bike securely in place.

Another key feature of Cyclepods is that the design optimizes space.

Other cycle storage units out there at the moment usually require double the space that Cyclepods does.

A roof cover over the Cyclepod means that not only is the product a form of cycle parking, but also acts as a bike shelter offering protection from the weather as well as providing a real visual focal point.
