CEBI Handle Design Competition

CEBI Handle Design Competition aims to develop a creative design, in line with contemporary standards of design, to be used for CEBI. The competition which provide to appear young designers, is will be held solely on the Internet.

This competition has a formal web site. After controlling of conformity with jury specifications and approving, elected works will be opened to the jury's opinion. After analysing submissions on internet by jury members, they will vote up to stated date. Jury will meet 3 March 2006 in İstanbul for analysing submissions on papers.

There is no limitation of age, nationality and profession for taking part in the competition. First winner of the competition will take 5.000YTL (New Turkish Lira), second will take 3.000YTL, third will take 2.000YTL. Moreover, CEBI will vote designers for awarding him/her 3.000YTL under the "Cebi Private Award".

Aim of the Competition

Competition will open four different categories. For each category first, second and third place will be determined. For each category, first winner of the competition will take 3.000YTL (New Turkish Lira), second will take 2.000YTL, third will take 1.000YTL. Moreover, Cebi will vote designers for awarding him/her 3.000YTL under the "Cebi Private Award".

Conditions of Competition Entry
Anyone with access to the Internet; continuating education in architecture, interior design and industrial design and graduated from this faculties may take part in this competition, regardless of age, nationality or profession. The only restriction on entry applies to jury members and their first-degree relatives (spouses, children, parents, siblings) and also their work partners. The competition will be held solely on the Internet, except for the final selection of the jury. Competitors may send a maximum of three works for each heading which are handle, button and hanger. Competitors' private sign which are selected by each competitor will be near each works. There is no application fee for the competition.

Assessment Criteria
The jury will consider the following criteria when assessing the entries:

1. Representation of Company: Wanted to be modern designs and compatipled with representation of CEBI from works.
2. Quality of Design: Most important criteria of selection is quality of modern design.
3. Originality of Design: Works must be original design. Understanding of works are not to be original design, competitor will be out of the assessment.
4. Usage of the Design: CEBI reserve the right to use and sale winning design. CEBI may choose to produce any of the not-winning entries. In this condition, making to designer a payment (250 YTL) for each design in four different categories which are handle, button, hanger and door handle. Wanting to do revise of design, contact with designer for developing design.

Usage of the Design

Publication of Designs
By sending their works to the Internet site, competitors authorize CEBI to publish any of the entries that are selected in the final selection. Entries may be published in popular as well as professional publications about the competition, provided that the designer's name is given.

Usage of Designs
CEBI reserve the right to use and sale winning design. The institution holding the competition may, if it so wishes chooses to use any of the prize-winning entries. The adaptation of the design for its purpose by the CEBI will be carried out according to a protocol to be made between the winner(s) and CEBI. The winner, in this context, may be asked to provide consultative services.


Registration Process
1. Competitor visits http://www.tutcekas.com and selects the "register" button for doing registration process.

2. Fully complete the form that appears, filling in the information form completely and accurately. The consequences of an incomplete or incorrect form are the responsibility of the competitor. In the event that the registration form contains incomplete and/or incorrect information, the competitor's prize will be withdrawn.

3. Once the registration form is completed, user may send his or her designs by a form located in "Works".

4. A competitor may submit a maximum 3 entries for per titles during the competition period. When submitting an entry, competitors should follow the instructions on the "being attention while submitting entries".

5. The creator of the winning entry must submit high-resolution digital image (minimum 300 dpi), will be design A4 size. Moreover 3D model of design, 1/1 side, front and view, 2/1 assembling detail, dimensional engineer drawing of submissions will be wanted from winner.


The Selection Process and Jury
Firstly, submissions will be opened for the jury analyze on internet on 28-29 March. The final jury selection on 30 March 2006, will be made from both electronic media and printed (A4 size) copies of the entries. The presentation for the jury will be prepared by the award secretariat.

Prizes
Entries awarded first, second and third place will be given following prizes with award ceremony on 31 March 2006:

Responsibility for the payment of any statutory fees and taxes resulting from prizes belongs to the competitor.

Requirements from the Winning Entrant
The creator of the winning entry must submit high-resolution digital image (minimum 300 dpi) in TIFF format on CD.

Last day for asking questions: 23 January 2006
Announcement of answers to questions: 31 January 2006
Last date of application: 27 March 2006
Final selection by jury: 30 March 2006
Award ceremony: 31 March 2006

Award Ceremony
The award ceremony of competition will be held on 31 March 2006 at a place in Istanbul which will be located. The prizes will be given in the form of a cheque or a bank transfer, depending on whether the prize-winners will be able to attend the ceremony.
