Fashion Week's Most Fashionable Designers

Starting Friday, the catwalk comes to New York, where colorful tents will fill up with lithe models and eager shutterbugs in Bryant Park for 7th on Sixth's presentation of Olympus Fashion Week.
It's sure to be one of the biggest parties the fashion industry has thrown in years, as people just can't seem to get enough of the clothes they're wearing.
Since what and who is "in" varies so much from season to season--and even day to day--what makes someone fashionable at this week's shows could be how coveted tickets to their shows are, how much buzz they've generated since the last NYC fashion week and what big things have been happening with them lately.
Not surprisingly, even 7th on Sixth Executive Director Fern Mallis had a hard time pinning down who is most fashionable this season.
First, she listed off a number of designers new on the scene: the sexy up-and-comers like Heatherette and sass & bide.
But Mallis was quick to admit that sometimes newbies can't compete with seasoned veterans.
"Our industry is always asking who's new," she admitted.
Fashion stories in America are most frequently about new designers, but their shows are still not as hot as a Michael Kors show."
