Semi-Competitive

Semi-Competitive is a design, film & fashion competition brought to you by Design is Kinky and Adobe. Closely aligned with the Semi-Permanent events, the competition consists of three categories; Graphic, Motion/Film and Fashion. Each category not only has the chance of winning a large prize but winners will also gain world wide exposure of their work at the Semi-Permanent events.

Graphic
To design a series of (three) posters. They can be on any theme and any style; illustration, digital art, painting, graffiti, street, collage, photography, etc. The emphasis is on creative art & design. They are looking for work that stands out from the crowd, that pushes a style to it's limits and that are humorous and intelligent. These works should be noncommercial (ie, not from corporate work).

Posters will be printed and displayed at events. Winning posters and a number of other entries will be printed in the Semi-Permanent 2006 book.

Motion/Film
To create a motion graphics and/or film piece. They can be on any theme and in any style. The emphasis of the motion/film section is on creativity and humour. The pieces will be shown on the big screen at the Semi-Permanent events and therefore need to be fun, creative, witty and intelligent. They can be made in any style of motion graphics or film and must not exceed two minutes in length.

The winning motion/film piece will be shown on stage during the Semi-Permanent events. The winning piece and a number of other entries will be printed (as screenshots) in the Semi-Permanent 2006 book.

Fashion
Design a tshirt graphic. The design can be of any theme and style, however keep in mind that; the tshirt graphic needs to be creative and intelligent; should take into account that it will be be worn and sold in several different countries; must be able to be printed using traditional screen printing methods and, as the offficial Semi-Permanent 2006 tshirt, should be a good ambassador for the event. The tshirt will become the official 2006 Semi-Permanent tshirt. The winning tshirt will be worn and sold at all of the 2006 Semi-Permanent events. Several entries may also be printed in the Semi-Permanent 2006 book.

- Deadline for entries is 10 March 2006. Any entries received after this date will not be judged as a part of the competition.
- Entry into Semi-Competitive is free.
- All work submitted to Semi-Competitive remains the property of the artist. The organiser reserves the
right to use entries as examples for promotion of the competition (on the official web site, in magazines, in
the Semi-Permanent book, etc) and the winning entries will be reproduced into the appropriate medium
(poster, tshirt, etc) as stated in the category guidelines. They will contact the artists in writing (email) for any further use of art work beyond what is stated above.
- You may submit multiple entries in each category to the competition. However, each person is only
allowed 5 entries maximum per category.
- Please read the category guidelines closely. Any entries that do not adhere to the guidelines will not be
judged.
- The prizes will be allocated to the entries that receive the most points from our judges. One prize will be
given to an overall Grand Prize Winner and one prize will be given for each category winner.
- Judges decision is final.
- All prizes are non-transferable or redeemable for cash. In the event that a winner does not respond the
prize will be awarded to the next highest placed entry in that category or overall.
- Semi-Competitive and it's organisers (Design is Kinky) are not responsible for any injuries, financial losses, or mishaps that may occur whilst producing work for the competition.
- The organisers are not liable for any loss or intentional damage as a result of taking any prize.
