Icograda Design Week in Seattle

Defining Design on Changing Planet will be the theme of the first ever Icograda Design Week to be held in the United States from 9-15 July 2006. The University of Washington campus in Seattle will provide an ideal setting for this gathering of visual communications specialists from all over the world.
The week begins with a 4-day international Student Workshop. Design students will join a small classroom environment led by leading design educators and practitioners. You will workshop subject matter based on the UN Millennium Development Goals and the workshop results will be showcased during the Over the Fence Seminar. Marisol Sanjines, a communications advisor with the UN's Human Development Programme, will introduce the student workshop theme and provide perspective on the UN's Millennium Goals.
During the 1-day Over the Fence Seminar, you will hear about trends shaping North American design at this one-day showcase of emerging designers from Central America, the United States and Canada.
Speakers from 10 countries will participate in the 2-day International Conference. For designers and communicators, it s a rare opportunity to hear from renowned international speakers and interact with other design professionals from around the world. Sarah Little Turnbull, Director of the Process of Change, Innovation, and Design Laboratory at the Stanford Graduate School of Business will provide the keynote address.
The event is presented by Icograda in partnership with the AIGA Center for Cross-Cultural Design.
