Tomas Saraceno in the Curve

Tomas Saraceno in the Curve

March 11, 2006  |  Elif SUNGUR

In the first of an ongoing series of new commissions for The Curve, Argentinean artist Tomas Saraceno presents his spectacular vision of the future.

Intrigued by the possibility of flying cities, Saraceno has created a dramatic installation featuring video shot from a ring of 32 cameras, floating on the world's largest salt lake, Solar de Uyni, Chile.

This is Saraceno's most ambitious project to date and continues his exploration of airborne communities as a solution to the world's growing, and increasingly troubled population.

Could his utopian vision of mobile, airborne communities, unconstrained by national, cultural and racial identities, become a real and sustainable solution to urban living?

The exhibition will take place between 11 May 2006 and 23 July 2006.
