Pitti Living is the new Pitti Immagine show devoted to the world of home accessories - items that are fundamental in defining the esthetic mood of the contemporary home.

The Show Is Growing, the Exhibition Formula Evolving
Following on the heels of the success of the 2005 edition (approximately 12,000 visitors attended the 6-day event), Pitti Living - at the Padiglione Visconti - will be hosting products and designs dedicated to the pleasures of home living: from textiles to accessories to shelf and decorative items. The carefully screened and selected exhibitors - there will be 33 firms at this edition - make Pitti Living a real exhibition, almost a limited edition, which aims to become a meeting place for up-and-coming new talents. Special guest of this edition is RICK OWENS: the fashion designer will be presenting the Italian premiere of his furniture collection at Pitti Living.
During the week of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Pitti Living offers a voyage of discovery of new moods which are able to make any habitat more engaging and personal through the things, designs and images of the people at work.
The New Idea: Living as the Space and Place for Creative Work
Indeed, this coming edition's theme is "the people behind the designs." And it will focus special attention on unusual projects and the creative process, revealing and highlighting the human qualities and individuality that give the products their character.
The atmosphere will be warm and lively like a creative workspace, a research center. The architecture of the pavilions will create the feeling of an atelier, well-defined, adjoining areas. The stands will be identified by slightly raised platforms with colored neon contours. A space designed to stimulate the visitor, with areas for special, small exhibits, lounge areas, music, and images. The entrances to the fair will be marked by luminous signs and decorated with contemporary revisitations of classic outdoors symbols. The lighting will be realized in collaboration with Viabizzuno which has created the special "pl2" light, designed by Luca Emanueli and Mario Nanni, for Living. Cristina Morozzi is the overall project coordinator; layout and settings designed by Luca Emanueli.
Special Events and Communication
Pitti Living is a houseful of events and a privileged meeting place along the Zona Tortona circuit - Milan's new creative district - which is the place to come and go, to create associations and experience close encounters of the creative kind. Thanks to extended hours (until 10:00 p.m.) a series of events will enliven each of the 6 days of the Pitti Living experience.
"Rick Owens Furniture": The Italian Premiere
Rick Owens will be presenting the Italian premiere of his furniture collection at Pitti Living. Launched in July 2005, inspired by the fashion designer's whim to furnish his own home, this collection is a concentration of classical lines and proportions which draws on icons of the past, from Le Corbusier to Joe Colombo and Jacques-Emile Rhullman. The furniture - seats, benches, tables, lamps and vases - follows the same principles as his fashion collections, and is characterized by elegant lines and unusual materials such as rough plywood, resin, fiberglass, cashmere and bone. In collaboration with the Fondazione Pitti Discovery. Opening on Wednesday 5th April, 7.00p.m.
Official Presentation of the Nazionale Italiana Design (National Italian Design Team)
A project to claim the made in Italy of design and to underline the importance of the teamwork. 22 unparalleled designers, all been trained with great masters, run onto the pitch to defend the colours of Italian design.
Arabeschi Di Latte with "Edible Temporary Food Station"
The latest by the design/food cooperative, Arabeschi di Latte, is an exclusive production for Pitti Living. It is a sensory route that will take you to small "food stations", offering foods that are either packaged or made on the spot. The concept is to evoke the production methods and process that transform basic foods into more sophisticated products.
Installations of "Domestic"
"Domestic" presents one of the special projects at Pitti Living no. 2. Devised by the French designer couple, Stéphane Arriubergé and Christine Montard, the first "DOMESTIC" collection proposes decorative elements in adhesive vinyl as an alternative to wallpaper. Walls thus become a place in which to express creativity, without the need for huge resources. Green Bubble line is the name of the special project by Matali Crasset which "DOMESTIC" is bringing to Pitti Living to be presented alongside Possession by Antoine+Manuel.
