The Premier's Design Awards 2006

The Premier's Design Awards 2006 are central to the State of Design, a celebration of Victoria's leading edge design diversity, expertise and potential.
Designed to recognise and reward innovation and achievement across all disciplines of Victorian design, in new categories across the tertiary and professional sectors, the Premier's Design Awards 2006 focus on Victoria as the State of Design.
This year, the prize monies have increased. The Premier's Design Award 2006 with an AUD 40,000 prize will be awarded to a designer or design team for design excellence and innovation of national or international standard.
Categories have been streamlined rewarding excellence and innovation across the four major fields of professional design; recognising and nurturing talent in four student sections and awarding career achievement for design leadership in Victoria.
The inaugural City of Melbourne Sustainability Design Award will recognise achievements specific to the city's sustainability design agenda.
Shortlisted and winning entries will be exhibited at the Melbourne Museum from October - December 2006.
