Bodies of Work: The Chicago Festival of Disability Arts and Culture

April 15, 2006  |  Levent OZLER

Bodies of Work is Chicago's first-ever festival showcasing disability artists and their work.

An unprecedented event for Chicago and the U.S., Bodies of Work will explore and celebrate the contributions of artists with disabilities, the contemporary contexts of disabled lives, and works that illuminate disability experiences.

Bodies of Work is a dynamic, 10-day, citywide festival featuring visual and performing arts that explore disability issues and showcase the work of artists with disabilities.

Enjoy theatrical performances, dance, literature, poetry, spoken word, film, visual art exhibitions, educational programs and more.

The festival will feature the work of professional artists from the Chicago area and beyond, as well as local non-professional artists, and will bring together for the first time a variety of arts and community programs that are dedicated to the recognition of disability arts.
