Alliance with Laptop Design USA Provides Users Unique Customization Options for Notebook Computers

Sharp Systems of America is proud to announce a marketing alliance with Laptop Design USA, to offer users and businesses the ability to customize the paint jobs on their laptops to their own personal liking. Through the alliance, Sharp customers ordering new notebooks will have the option of adding graphic design customizations to the lids of their laptops through the services of Laptop Design USA. To celebrate and promote the new partnership, through May 30th Sharp customers will be able to take advantage of a special promotion in which new purchases will be given an "e-coupon" for a free customized print job through Laptop Design USA. Sharp is also taking part in Laptop Design USA's "Pimp the Laptop" Challenge which gives anyone the opportunity to get involved in the customization trend.

Since jewelry was invented thousands of years ago, customization has been a way of life," said Mark Romano, Marketing Director at Sharp Systems of America. "This is an opportunity for both professional and personal customization. From a company's logo to your favorite NASCAR racing colors, Sharp will offer personalized computers and personalized service, to a very personal purchase. Our alliance with Laptop Design USA offers our customers customization options that are only limited by their imaginations."

"With their clean designs and outstanding performance, Sharp's notebooks provide a great platform for customization," said Peder Blohm, President and CEO of Laptop Design USA. "Demand is rising for notebook computers, and with that rising demand comes the demand for customization options. We're proud to partner with Sharp to offer their customers with the ability to personalize their notebooks and express themselves or their business."

Everyone can Get Involved
As part of the alliance, Sharp is participating in Laptop Design's "Pimp The Laptop" Contest, where users are encouraged to submit their own original designs as entry into both the contest and the sweepstakes. The contest, which is accepting entries until June 15, 2006, includes 30 days of online voting. Winners of the contest and the sweepstakes will be awarded one of several laptops, including Sharp's Actius MC24, a compact and sleek notebook that lends itself to customization, with their design painted on the lid.

"The Actius MC24 is a stylish notebook that has appeal for users who like to connect in the office, out at the coffee shop, around school, or just from room to room at the home," said Terry Hanly, Product Marketing Manager as Sharp Systems of America. "For students, it might be used as a homework notebook, or for parents, an internet escape in the lounge while the kids are using the family PC. It's a versatile notebook that packs a punch that any family would love to have."
