L'Oreal Fashion Week Spring 2007


Dates
--The week of October 16-21, 2006

Industry Participants Include:
--Designers - emerging and established
--Retailers - to support, promote and purchase Canadian brands; to showcase their own private brands
--Manufacturers - to highlight "Great Canadian Labels"
--International Players - international designers and guests

Participating Designers must fulfill the criteria found below:
--Designers must be a member of the FDCC
--Designers must have been producing retail and/or wholesale lines prior to showing their collection during L'Oreal Fashion Week
--Designers must produce a first rate collection of international caliber/quality production
--Designers must be working with a publicist prior to and during their runway and/or fashion environment showcase to ensure attendance, coverage and the success of the show. If you are not currently working with a publicist, the FDCC will provide you with a list of companies.
--Designers must work with a producer/stylist for their runway show presentation. This will ensure proper styling/editing of the collection from an objective standpoint. If you are not currently working with a producer/stylist, the FDCC will provide you with a list of companies.
--In addition to having your own producer/stylist designers must work closely with the LFW show producer. New designers are obligated to allow the producer to view and edit the collection, as well as their music and model selection. Arrangements will made to meet with the producer in order to make sure all criteria will be met.
--Designers must notify the FDCC by Friday July 5th if they plan to participate in LFW
--Designers must submit three samples to be reviewed by an independent jury of fashion executives. Samples are to be submitted to the FDCC no later than August 4th and you will be notified shortly after, by August 11th.
--Designers must submit a portfolio, press kit or look book for Fall 06, in addition to their samples, to be juried by the FDCC.

Designer fees are dependent on desired timeslots. Designers must select timeslot appropriately and within prospected budgets. All fees are non-negotiable.

Venue -
--Runway room
-----Seating assignments
-----Handling of media for all interviews
-----Crowd control
--Audio
--Lighting
--Onsite security arrangement, including backstage
--10 Dressers
--Make up services
-----Backstage equipment (rolling racks, steamer...)
-----Hair services
-----Shoes


Public Relations -
--The FDCC will supply public relations surrounding LW and will work with designer/sponsor public relations representatives
--All print and promotional material
--Guidebook and calendar listing

Show producer -
--The FDCC will supply a show producer to assist with the production of your show. The producer's team will be present backstage to organize and call your show. They are also available prior to fashion week to meet with you in order to fine tune your show (editing, styling, music and model selection).
--Invitations to the Holt Renfrew Media Cocktail
--Opportunity to place press kits/promotional material in the media lounge
--Exposure on the L'Oreal Fashion Week website
-----Includes calendar listing, bio, pictures and video of show
--Ability to meet with buyers onsite at the LFW buyer's lounge

Designer Requirements and Onsite Commitments:
--Deadlines outlined in this document must be adhered to. No Exceptions.
--Submission of designer's top three time slot choices. Please be aware that the FDCC creates the L'Oreal Fashion Week calendar. The FDCC will do their best to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee your first choice pick.
--Production and styling of runway show
--Must work closely with the LFW show producer
--Seating plan: Must provide the seating plan 3 days prior to your show.
--Models- Designers are responsible for choosing their own models.
--All invitations - designers are responsible for inviting their own guests including media, buyers, manufacturers and industry VIPs
--Submission of 30 - 50 complete press kits or look books to be displayed within the media lounge
--8-10 dressers to assist during their runway show
--Please note that any solicitation of sponsors must be done in cooperation with the FDCC due to existing contracts surrounding LFW
