Sockeye Creative Unveils New PSU Logo

Sockeye Creative Unveils New PSU Logo

July 14, 2006  |  Sally Murdoch

As part of a new visual identity package started earlier this year, Sockeye Creative and client Portland State University (PSU) have unveiled PSU's new logo.

The new logo is important in that it represents the new voice for the urban university and marks a significant commitment to communicating many of the positive things happening on Portland State's campus.

Chosen from a field of nine creative firms, Sockeye is approximately halfway through the re-branding process, and is currently working on development for PSU's publication template design, graphic standards guide (including visual and type standards), top-level web design and the redesign of PSU Magazine, among other aspects of the visual identity program.

All pieces are to be set in place for Fall 2006.

Sockeye Creative is a full-service brand agency founded in Portland in 1997 by Andy Fraser, Peter Metz and Tom Sloan.

The company's roots are steeped in graphic design and film/video production but the firm quickly grew into a $2 million a year business by offering clients well-executed brand strategies and original creative work.
