Turnbull Ossher Design Webby Ambassador in Australia for the 11th Webby Awards

The Webby Awards, the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet, has selected Turnbull Ossher Design as its official Webby Ambassador in Australia for the 11th Annual Webby Awards. The Webby Call for Entries began on September 19, 2006.

As an Ambassador, Turnbull Ossher Design will oversee outreach to Australia's most outstanding interactive and creative professionals, encouraging potential entrants to submit their work for consideration for The 11th Annual Webby Awards.

Hailed as "one of the most prestigious awards in the world" by the BBC, The Webby Awards is presented and judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization with a membership that includes musician David Bowie, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, The Body Shop president Anita Roddick, "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening, Real Networks CEO Rob Glaser, and fashion designer Max Azria.

"The Webbys has always received outstanding entries from around the world, but with so much of today's very best interactive work being created outside the US, it is more important than ever for us to work with local industry leaders such as Turnbull Ossher Design to help us find the very best work in Australia," said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards and The Academy.

Noting that The 10th Annual Webby Awards received a record number of entries from over 40 countries, Davies said Turnbull Ossher Design would play a critical role in building on that momentum and increasing entries from Australia this year.

Submissions for entry to The 11th Annual Webby Awards will close October 27th October. The Webby Awards are taking entrants for Websites and, from this year, Interactive Advertising and Online Film & Video.
