Report on the Exhibition Opening: Return on Ideas - Better by Design
October 17, 2006 | Levent OZLER
On Friday, 13 October 2006, numerous design interested people celebrated the vernissage of the special exhibition "Return on Ideas - Better by Design" in the red dot design museum.
After the festive welcome by Professor Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Professor Dr. Peter Zec, President of Icsid and the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, the exhibition presented creative ideas, futuristic designs, and materials and technologies of the future.
The exhibition is held in the red dot design museum at Zeche Zollverein and will be open to visitors until 12 November 2006.
A concept car by DaimlerChrysler, which is powered by fuel cells; an aluminium wheel named "Nature Wheel", which has a wooden core; a soccer ball, which only deviates one percent from the perfect sphere - all these products have one thing in common: they document the successful realisation of an idea using innovative design and sustainable materials.
The exhibition "Return on Ideas - Better by Design" explores products from different areas of life and tracks their development process back to their original idea.
