Registration is Online for the VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD

The VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD has, in a very short time, become one of the most sought-after awards for industry, designers and students.

For the third time, an international jury in cooperation with the German Design Council and the magazine form, is looking for innovative and creative ideas that unify aesthetics, function and individual design in order to improve products as presented in the VOLVO SportsDesign Theme 2007 of "Personal Design" Participants can be representatives of the sports industry, designers and students. They will compete in seven different categories as listed below:

- Ski Equipment
- Board Equipment
- Outdoor Equipment
- "Wheelers"
- Accessories
- Footwear/Headwear
- Clothing
- Concepts

5,000 Euro Special Prize for Young Designers
The special category, Concepts, is reserved for young designers and students. In order to provide a chance for exceptional and fresh concepts, this category also allows prototypes of SportsDesign illustrations. Due to the heavy competition in 2006, the Jury decided to increase the number of nominees in this category from five to twelve.

"And the Winner is..." - the AWARD Ceremony
The winners of the VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD will be honored on February 3rd at the AWARD Ceremony. Invited are high-class guests from design, sporting goods industry, specialized trade, press and participants of the VOLVO SportsDesign FORUM.

World-wide SportsDesign Presence
The winners and nominees will be published in the VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD yearbook and presented at the ispo winter and summer.

VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD
For the third time, the VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD will be handed over in the context of the VOLVO SportsDesign FORUM at ispo winter 07. Since the very first time, the Award achieved high recognition within the industry and design world. The topic for 2007 is Personal Design. An international Jury, experts in Industry Design, Sport and Media, will judge their favorite product primarily on formal character, functionality and usability, individual issues, innovation and conception, use of material and colors and graphics. The winners of each out of the seven categories will receive an Award Sculpture and the product will be given a whole page in the VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD Yearbook 2007. Additionally there will be an exhibition of the winning products at the ispo winter 07 and ispo summer 07.
