Salone Internazionale del MobileFrom April 13-18, 2005, the Milan trade fair will host the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, along with the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition.
Once again, particular attention will be given to the Bath and Home Textiles sectors.
This year marks the return of the biennial Euroluce exhibition, and as always, there is great excitement surrounding the annual SaloneSatellite.
The collateral exhibition also promises to be especially fascinating.
Fourty-four editions validated by unequivocal growth: the first Salone opened its doors on September 24, 1961, with 328 exhibitors occupying 11,000 square meters and attracting around 12,000 visitors.
By the 5th edition (1965), the exhibitors numbered 1,073, requiring 38,000 square meters to display their wares to more than 27,000 visitors. Five years later, exhibitors had reached 1,552, visitors nearly 50,000, and five years later still - we're in 1975 now - those numbers had increased yet again to 1,936 and 70,000, respectively.
These numbers reflect an equally important qualitative evolution: having started out as a strictly mercantile fair, the Salone has since become a veritable "pilgrimage destination", a genuine cultural event.
