 Modern Design & Murano Glass AuctionModern Design, Murano Glass, Modern Art and African Art are now coming under the hammer at Quittenbaum Art Auctions Munich.True to tradition, the auction house is offering a choice selection of top-class unique items as well as selected objects in a variety of price categories. A very well maintained, complete, museum quality 'Frankfurt Kitchen' by the renowned architect Margarete Schuette Lihotzky (1926, est. Euro 20,000) will set curators' pulses racing. Piero Fornasetti's large paravent with the motifs 'Jerusalem by Night' and 'Renaissance Skyscrapers' (c.1950, est. Euro 15,000), two early 'Lyra' chairs (1951, est. Euro 7,000) as well as Gio Ponti's bar cabinet (c.1955, est. Euro 25,000) are bound to be coveted by the international collectors'commun ity. A first on the international auction market is Annie Tribel's 'Coupé' plastic seating arrangement; designed for a French theatre-café, one of only five to ten copies made, now has the chance to find a new home (1968, est. Euro 6,000). Joe Colombo's 'Living Centre - Dining Trolley' also has great rarity value (1970, est. Euro 5,000) and could still be used to serve dinner for eight people.
