 Eye for Why - Student Design Competition 2004Dyson is dedicated to encouraging students to think differently by conquering everyday problems with the design of functional products.An Eye for Why, Dyson's first US student design competition, is a tremendous opportunity for students at any of the NASAD-accredited degree programs or individual student members of IDSA to demonstrate globally, a new and alternative design solution that simply works better. Entries are not restricted by theme or product group, rather the product(s) submitted should reflect the Dyson philosophy. James Dyson, is committed to 'complete design', a concept which focuses on the total product - one that looks good, solves a problem, works well and provides a real advantage over existing offerings. According to James, "Manufacturers shouldn't think about design as a bolt-on thing. It's the total product that's important - how it's used, how it's made and how reliable it is."
