Chocolate Fashion Design ShowChocolate Show is the ultimate festival of world class exhibitors, chef demonstrations, chocolate fashion and showpieces, tantalizing gifts, activities for children, and more.
Chocolate makers are spicing things up at the seventh annual Chocolate Show, a four-day yumfest starting tomorrow at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.
"One company is featuring chocolate with basil and cinnamon, and another is launching a chocolate, ginger and cardamon (creation)," said Kerrin Feldman, spokeswoman for The Chocolate Show. "Chefs are using items from their spice rack in their chocolate."
Included in the 40,000 square feet of chocolate are confectionery creations such as chocolate sushi, herbed chocolates and organic fruit truffles.
"Chocolate is like jewelry these days," Feldman said. "It's about style and high-class packaging."
Which is why chocolatiers and fashionistas have joined together to create decadent designs made out of - you guessed it - chocolate.
These ready-to-eat creations, dished out by such designers as Nicole Miller and Patricia Field, use chocolate as ornaments, embroderies or fabric and benefit Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.
