 Dream: The Idea of Future in Italian Car DesignFrom now until November 23, 2008, the well-lit arcades of Padiglione Giovanni Agnelli di Torino Esposizioni will showcase a selection of over 50 car design masterpieces in the exhibition "Dream: The idea of future in Italian car design".Related audiovisual material, including virtual reality presentations, will be shown in the three surrounding rooms to describe the design process from the first pencil stroke to the start of industrialisation of the model.  INDEX: Award 2009The call for nominations is open for the INDEX: Award 2009, one of the biggest design awards in the world, presented every two years in Copenhagen.INDEX: is dedicated to change global mindsets by demonstrating and exploring the concept of "Design to Improve Life". INDEX: Award does not categorise design according to traditional labels since these categories do not fully reflect the interdisciplinary approach employed in most interesting modern design. INDEX: asks that the nomination bodies think horizontally, across design categories and industries, when selecting their nominees for the five categories vital to human life: body, home, work, play and community. Under the focus of Design to Improve Life, each nomination is evaluated according to three parameters: Form, Impact and Context.  P&D Design 2008: 8th Brazilian Conference on Design Research and DevelopmentP&D Design - Brazilian Conference of Design Research and Development - is a biannual event that intends to promote the discussion about design research and education.This scientific event, currently the biggest design conference in Latin America, is an important forum for spreading and discussing prominent questions in this area, either resultant of applied or basic research. The first edition of this conference was held in 1994, in Sao Paulo city, organized by UNIP (Paulista University), AEnD-BR (the Brazilian Association for Design Education) and the journal Estudos em Design (Design Studies). This first edition had the participation of 24 institutions of design education and research, represented by researchers from eight Brazilian states and international guests.  Undesignable: 2nd Design Trade Show in BerlinOn November 29 and 30, 2008, Berlin sees its second Design Trade Show Undesignable.25 galleries and dealers from all over Europe will present their finest 20th century design pieces at the Innovation and Technological Park area. The Undesignable fair shows a wide choice of objects, e.g. exquisite genuine furniture, lighting, paintings, prints, jewellery and decorative and art pieces from plastic, glass or ceramics. Design aficionados attracted to last century's period from the 40s to 80s will find their own dream piece, or just browse and enjoy the stylish variety of these decades. Works of famous designers as Mies Van der Rohe, Friso Kramer, Jean Prouv?, Arne Jacobsen, Bruno Mathsson, Charles and Ray Eames or Joe Colombo and many others will be on show at the exhibition area that expands to some 863 sqm. Most of the dealers and galleries, from the Germany, Netherlands, France and Belgium, will present their treasures for the first time in Berlin. All merchandise offered for sale during the event is authentic; with no reproductions permitted.
