 Schrofer Celebrates 25 Years of Design with Retrospective Exhibition During Elle InsideDuring the Elle Inside Design event in Amsterdam from 11-14 September, Dutch designer Frans Schrofer will celebrate 25 years of design.His retrospective exhibition will showcase over forty of his designs from the mid 1990's to the present. Frans Schrofer started as an organic "no-nonsense" designer. A graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, his internships with major manufacturers at the beginning of his career gave him an extensive knowledge of glass, wood, metal, and ceramics. Dutch practicality is evident in his conscious and conservative use of materials. Unique design combined with commercial appeal, intelligent constructions and above all attractive pricing has established Schrofer as an industrial designer with worldwide appeal. His ability to identify niche opportunities in global lifestyles and retailing continues to attract international clientele. The exhibition will feature Schrofer's earliest work manufactured solely in Holland and his early lighting designs. New models will be making debut appearances. Prize- winning designs will also be on display. Schrofer's Pre-CAD (computer aided design) product development started with scale polyurethane foam models to provide him and clients with optimal visualisation of the eventual prototype.
