Materiality: How Metals and Polymers Influence Our Senses and Inspire Our Designs

The processing options of metals and polymers and the resulting consequences for the realisation of innovative ideas in the field of industrial design are the focus of a two-day workshop taking place in Seattle on 18 and 19 September 2008.

With this event held under the motto "Materiality.

How metals and polymers influence our senses and inspire our designs" the worldwide leading company of materials science and engineering, ASM International, addresses established and young designers of all disciplines as well as brand strategists and managers.

In order to give customers the best advice and fulfil their respective demands on the products that need to be designed, the choice of suitable materials with regards to aesthetics, workability, and durability is one of the most crucial factors for successful design.

EarSet 3 Quality Sound for Your Ears Only

EarSet 3: Quality Sound for Your Ears Only

Following the worldwide release of the iPhone 3G, Bang & Olufsen is introducing a new version of its wired, stereo headset with built-in microphone, designed to fit any ear firmly and smoothly, also providing the highest sound quality for the iPhone.

Acoustic performance is one of Bang & Olufsen's core competences as is amply demonstrated by the tiny EarSet 3.

Here, a high signal-to-noise ratio means that the annoying noise known from many ear sets and earphones is almost absent; instead every musical detail is audible.

The sound quality is also affected by the placement of the EarSet in the ear.

EarSet 3 has been specially developed to closely match the contours and curves of the ear, permitting you to hear the sounds that would otherwise slip away.

Bang & Olufsen also enclosed small covers to make it more comfortable, and to compensate for the leak that might occur if the ear is bigger than the EarSet.
