Tukaani Eating Device

Tukaani: Eating Device

TUKAANI is Finnish for the toucan bird species.

The sterling silver TUKAANI is a hand made eating device for Asian food consumers in the West.

It may be held as traditional chopsticks.

But unlike the disposable wooden chopsticks, TUKAANI is both machine and hand washable and much easier to set on - and use at table.

The matt surface and taut movement allow steady grip in the hand.

The curl at the end of the TUKAANI provides eased food picking and delivery to the mouth.

The loop also allows easier hanging, storage and display.

A2B Electric Bike Ultra Motor Introduces New Electric Bike to US Market

A2B Electric Bike: Ultra Motor Introduces New Electric Bike to U.S. Market

Ultra Motor announced the availability of its new A2BTM electric bike.

Developed and manufactured by an international team of expert designers and engineers, the A2B is a state-of-the-art electric bike built specifically for urban transport across the American city landscape.

Increasing challenges are making urban transportation more costly and time-consuming: the Texas Transportation Institute reports that gridlock costs the average peak period traveler almost 40 hours a year in travel delay and wastes an annual 2.9 billion gallons of gasoline, which has climbed to more than $4.00 a gallon.

The A2B is a clean, gasoline-free transportation alternative for the thousands of short trips Americans take every day.

"The A2B is unparalleled in performance, comfort and style," said Chris Deyo, CEO of Ultra Motor USA.

"Whether it is a commuter who wants their journey to be fast and hassle-free, a college student looking to get across campus or an active senior looking to combine exercise with convenience, this is the ideal transportation method."

The Future of Car Design

The Future of Car Design

John Reed, motor industry correspondent, explores car design since Henry Ford's Model T, 100 years old this year, and looks at today's wilder visions for the cars of the future, as oil prices stay high and economic times darken.

He shows how cars have embodied our hopes and dreams. In the jet age, cars were built to look like planes. In the 1970s oil shocks catapulted functional but efficient Japanese cars to bestselling spots.

Looking to the future, John Reed reveals the wilder visions of car designers.

Film Reveals Inventors Fight Over Wiper Design

Film Reveals Inventor's Fight Over Wiper Design

For two decades, Robert Kearns waged an obsessive crusade against the auto industry, which he accused of stealing his invention.

It destroyed his marriage, brought on a mental breakdown and may have cost him millions.

All because of a dispute over a humble piece of equipment: the intermittent windshield wiper.

Kearns died of cancer in 2005 at age 77, four decades after perfecting the intermittent wiper design in his basement workroom.

The one-time engineering instructor at Wayne State University in Detroit received numerous patents for his mechanism.

Kearns took his gadget to Ford Motor Co., which initially showed interest; its engineers had been trying to develop a similar system.

But he never reached a licensing agreement with Ford or other automakers, partly because he insisted on forming his own company to manufacture the wipers.
