 SCA Packaging Design Challenge 2008SCA Packaging invites you to create a new packaging solution that is innovative and environmentally friendly.Think beyond the actual package! Create a total packaging concept that works from the production line, to the warehouse, into the retail store, and all the way through to the end consumers.  CAT-iq Design CompetitionThe DECT Forum, the worldwide association of the wireless communication industry, in partnership with the market intelligence company Jakajima in the Netherlands, announced the first international CAT-iq Design Competition.CAT-iq provides an open platform for pioneering IP service applications as well as new form factors for non-computing communication devices. The DECT Forum invites design students from all over the world to compete for cash prizes by applying their creativity and engineering skills to trend-setting products and services for tomorrow's IP based home network. CAT-iq Design Competition provides an opportunity for students from a variety of design backgrounds (industrial design, interactive design, gaming design, etc.) to demonstrate their problem solving and design skills in an international competition.  Recycle Lights: Johanna Keimeyer Creates Extravagant and Unique Lighting DesignsThey are everywhere. Water bottles, jugs of laundry detergent, cosmetics containers.Once they're empty, they go in the trash. We only pay attention to what's inside, not to the wrapping. Plastic containers are inconspicuous, yet well designed objects which, due to their variety of form, material and color, deserve a second look. Up and coming artist Johanna Keimeyer took that second look. Her treasure hunt through trash led her across half of Europe, through Slovenia, Spain, France, England and Germany. Inspired by the aesthetics of these throw-away products, she managed to give trash a second life.
