 Dyson Director Richard Needham Confirmed as Keynote Speaker for PDM10 ConferenceThe Plastics Design and Moulding Exhibition and Conference (PDM10) has confirmed that Sir Richard Needham, international and commercial director at Dyson, is to be keynote speaker at the event's Moulding Business Debate.Taking place at the Telford International Centre from 18 to 20 May 2010, the PDM10 Conference will address all the hottest topics facing the UK plastics industry today from product design and manufacturing innovation to wider business issues. Sir Richard's keynote will address how to compete effectively in a global market, drawing on his extensive experience at Dyson, where he headed up the company's move to manufacture in China. "New Knowledge, New Business is the underlying theme of the PDM10 event and we are strengthening the conference programme this year as part of a package of measures that will ensure our exhibitors and visitors can fully realise this theme," said Steve Crowhurst, event director.  Spark Award Winners Announced in San FranciscoWinners of the 2009 Spark Design and Architecture Awards are showcased at the Autodesk Gallery at One Market in San Francisco, following a full-day jury session and awards celebration.More than 370 contenders applied to Spark, the unique awards and qualification process that seeks out the best in dazzling design. The judges selected 93 winning designs in one of four categories - bronze, silver, gold or the ultimate Spark! Spark celebrates the best in design - from awesome architecture and sumptuous interiors to the bravest digital design. All types of product entries were encouraged, from mobility to medical, along with the best in fields such as branding, graphics, advertising and experiential design.
