Material ConneXion, the leading global platform for material solutions and innovations, will present "Sustainable Materials for a Better World", a comprehensive overview of the latest sustainable material trends, at this year's Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, from April 16-22, 2008, located between Halls 14 and 18.
To understand the fast-paced world of new materials and to help navigate different approaches to sustainability, Material ConneXion will showcase some of the most groundbreaking, sustainable materials available today and provide a glance at what the future of sustainability holds.
The exhibition will include materials that are biodegradable, recyclable, efficient, lightweight, durable, nontoxic, and made from resources that are easily renewable.
New advances in material processing will be highlighted, with examples of materials that have been redeveloped to eliminate toxic gasses and harmful chemicals.
An integral part of the exhibition will be the latest Cradle to Cradle materials, sourced directly from Material ConneXion's library-the only materials library in the world to feature Cradle to Cradle materials.
The addition of the materials earlier this year is part of a partnership between Material ConneXion, MBDC and EPEA to create greater global access to Cradle to Cradle materials, the building blocks for creating Cradle to Cradle products, and the products themselves.

Arik Ben Simhon, a well-known designer in Israel, participates to ZonaTortona Design for the first time.
He presents his new collection of armchairs, sofas, tables, lamps and chests of drawers, in a 500m2 location - Magna Pars in via Tortona 15.
The new collection presented in Milan is inspired by the fashion world, from the choice of fabrics to the selection of colours.
Armchairs and sofas are upholstered with metal satin fabrics with brown and black shades, combined with metal and steel.
The fabrics and finishes match perfectly thus giving rise to a unique and sophisticated style which looks at the future.
Ben Simhon also creates tables, chests of drawers and lamps featuring a strong African and Japanese influence.
The new collection - Arik Ben Simhon says - includes a series of armchairs and sofas that look like pilot's wind coats.
They are so soft and cosy that you will feel like being wrapped in them.
The furniture upholstered with metal satin fabric gives you the impression of being part of a futuristic cartoon - "Blade Runner meets Mickey Mouse".
The products presented in the new collection, flanked by those of the former collection, are appealing and glamorous though at the same time comfortable, warm and cosy and therefore they make you feel at home.

The Sign of Design - this year's pay-off, refers to the important role that ZonaTortona plays within the design community.
A laboratory of new trends, a talent-scout of emerging designers and an assiduous promoter of the 'design system' at an international level.
A role which ZonaTortona has assumed since its first edition in 2001 and which remains a key factor in its success.
Alongside the numerous novelties of this year's event, ZonaTortona Design 2008 welcomes back a number of "historic" exhibitors from past editions.
ZonaTortona Design, in its eighth year, has become one of the design world's "not to be missed" annual appointments.
A unique moment offering an "open-air" international showcase of creativity.
ZonaTortona Design allows its loyal visitors to see the latest collections and trends in furniture, accessories and objects.
Since 2001 ZonaTortona Design has become a focal point in the international design circuit.
In its 7 year history visitor numbers have risen from 20,000 in 2001 to 80,000 visitors in 2007.
The secret to ZonaTortona Design's success lies in its international position and the quality of its contents, maintained through the rigorous selection process of exhibitors.
