On August 31, Tendence Lifestyle, the fall consumer goods fair produced by Messe Frankfurt, completed its second edition since it was restructured a year ago.
Merchandise was presented in “Lifestyle&# 8221; divisions named Joy, Emotion, Modern Living, and Function, rather than by product category as is done at the winter fair, Ambiente. Messe officials were keeping their fingers crossed that visitors to the first Tendence Lifestyle weren’t turned off by the show’s reorganization, and that they would return to this year’s fair.
They were somewhat relaxed by mid-fair when vice president Nicolette Naumann told us that attendance was on track to reach 100,000 visitors. “Tendence Lifestyle is a show for looking, getting ideas,” a Messe press officer told us. “Ambiente is a show for buying.” Tendence Lifestyle exhibited in all halls of the Frankfurt fairgrounds, except for halls 2 and 10, and the top floor of hall 9.

Stylish and useful the Avery Label Dispenser designed by Beverly Hills-based designer Robert Radi is fast becoming a favorite among back to school and office supplies.
A unit that takes a leap forward as Avery's innovation in label dispensing since MR. R. Stanton Avery himself designed his successful cardboard version in the late 1930's; the all injection molded version was styled by Robert Radi to be a product for a countless number of expandable applications of its deliverable content.
The Avery Label Dispenser was recognized with the Good Design Award by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Design and Architecture.

3-days Seminar: September 15, 16 and 17, 2004
This three-days in-depth automotive seminar will provide information on material selection, design procedures, processing techniques, and the assembly methods required when designing with plastics in the automotive field.
Attendees will focus on what to expect from a polymeric material and discuss in detail methods and methodologies used to make the design process as easy as possible and fully comply with FMVSS. In addition, this course will enable the automotive OEM and his supplier (1st, 2nd, or 3rd-tier) to have more effective communication.
The OEMs will learn how to initiate their concepts on a solid, communal basis, thus allowing for cost-efficiencies and fewer second thoughts when they understand the scientific basis, and the fine tuning that comes with experience.
A large number of automotive case histories will explain the step-by-step procedures to successful and robust designs.
This course is targeted at automotive designers, product managers, project managers, research engineers, material engineers, graduate and undergraduate students, or anyone involved in the development and manufacture of automotive plastic products and systems.

Organized annually by SFIC, the Furniture Design Award (FDA) seeks to nurture budding design talents and innovative design firms for Singapore and the region. It also acts as the platform for constructive design exchange as well as the launch pad for creative and innovative designs in Asia.
FDA 2005 will be held in conjunction with one of Asia's top furniture shows, International Furniture Fair Singapore 2005/22nd ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS), from 1-5 March 2005 at the Singapore Expo. The design-focused IFFS/AFS 2005 is the perfect arena for FDA2005, with both events sharing an East-meets-West theme and capitalizing on Singapore's positioning as a design hub.
There are three categories :
Students Category - Open to all students studying in any local institution in Singapore
Young Designers Category - Open to all in the Asia Pacific region under the age of 35 as at 1 March 2005
Open Category - Open to all international entries from companies or individuals. Product must be already commercialised in the market.
