Japan has instructed the maker of Crocs to alter the design of the footwear after complaints that children wearing the colorful plastic clogs have had their feet injured on escalators.

The Trade Ministry said Friday it issued the warning after receiving 65 complaints about Crocs getting stuck in escalators between June and November last year.
Most of the cases involved small children.
Similar complaints have come from the United States as well, where Crocs is headquartered in Niwot, about 30 miles north of Denver.

At the rear, the wraparound tailgate - made from aluminum just like the hood - clearly identifies this SUV as a relative of its older brother, the Audi Q7.
The taillights are available in eye-catching LED technology as well.

Nissan revealed the new Nissan Teana premium sedan at the 2008 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.

The Dyson vacuum cleaner has emerged as the clear winner in an industry-wide review examining the current state of UK product design.
The study, carried out by PDM - the biggest trade event for UK product designers, sampled 270 industry stakeholders for their views.
It found the sector to be in good health with the UK firmly established as a leader in the global design industry, according to 83% of respondents.
More than 27% named the Dyson DC01, first launched in 1993, as a product which best exemplified this innovation in design.
These results confirm the reputation enjoyed by such star designers as Ron Arad, Tom Dixon, Ross Lovegrove and Sebastian Conran, but also underlines the global importance of UK industrial design groups, like PDD, Kinneir Dufort, IDC and DCA, to name but a few.
And plastics are a pre-eminent material in these groups' product designs.
In the survey, 82% agreed that "the use of plastics allows product designers to achieve a high degree of innovation in their designs".
This innovation is amply shown in Dyson vacuum cleaners, which make extensive use of various types of clear and coloured plastics in their iconic designs.
Alongside the Dyson Vacuum cleaner, design innovations in medicare, consumer electronics and automotive sectors, proved popular selections which included drug delivery and inhaler devices, the Apple iMac and the Smartcar.

The Corning Museum of Glass brings the live glassmaking experience beyond the walls of the Museum in GlassLab, a new initiative that pairs master glassmakers with some of the most creative minds working in design today.
Created in collaboration with the Vitra Design Museum, GlassLab debuted at Design Miami in December 2007.
The event will take place at the Cooper-Hewitt and will feature designers Harry Allen, an interior designer whose projects range from the offices of Metropolis magazine and the Guggenheim New York to his own line of furniture called Living Systems; and husband and wife partners Laurene and Constantin Boym, who are known for their work with notable brands Alessi, Droog, Swatch, and Vitra.
In addition, Tobias Wong, Antenna Design, and Chad Philips of Kidrobot will also be a part of these design performances.
