New extension for le Grand Louvre. The new section will be dedicatd to the Islamic art and culture and will be built in the Visconti courtyard in the Denon wing. The project comes from a feasibility study made by the studio Ove Arup in the spring of 2003. The international competition to select the designer , will be launched in 2005. The new exhibition spaces will be open to the public in 2009
