 IDSA Leader Chelsea Sutula Joins RKSRKS announced the addition of Chelsea Sutula, former Director of the IDEA Awards at IDSA, to its new business team.In her tenure at IDSA, Chelsea successfully broadened the international reach of IDSA through the launch of IDEA/Brasil, expanding of the one of the world's most prestigious design awards. She also strategized and executed major overhauls to the IDEA program. Chelsea has been instrumental in re-structuring the Catalyst case study program, an initiative to promote the importance and impact of design. Through her collaboration with RKS founder and CEO, Ravi Sawhney, on this project, Chelsea became aware of RKS's successful portfolio and growth trajectory. Looking for a modern and sexy design to shape this different, major project, Hennessy entrusted Curius to take up the challenge. The newly created bottle is a one of a kind product resulting from the fusion of jewellery, fashion and liquor codes, at the crossroad of trends and heritage. Curius imagined an alchemy of elegance and sophisticated power following the brand's DNA. The agency designed the bottle as a premium accessory interpreting all components of the brand's identity, but also expressing a new one that was previously unexplored. In line with the brief, Curius has created the perfect design for a product that indubitably reflects Hennessy, while still remainging truly unique. A glossy black cover allows the bottle to better catch the light. The new hot-pressed silver logo block emphasizes the stylized armoured arm.  Gwangju Design Biennale 2009: Clues to Improve LifeUnder the theme "The Clue", the Gwangju Biennale Foundation will open its 3rd edition of the Gwangju Design Biennale on 18 September 2009.Taking place until 4 November 2009 in the Gwangju Biennale Hall and all around the city of Gwangju, South Korea, this event sets out to reevaluate the concept "think globally and act locally" by examining five examples of traditional Korean culture. The five themes of Clothing, Eating, Living, Enlightening and Enjoying form the basis of life and the basis of the Gwangju Design Biennale 2009. Because these five human actions form the basis of a complete and harmonious life across all cultures, they are also themes in which designers, who want to improve that life, may search for clues. The extraordinary resources, objects and values upon which Korean culture thrives serve as a starting point for international designers and artists in their creation of new design concepts. The curators of each theme exhibition try to pinpoint their relevance to specific culture and design.
