A.N.T. Gallery, created by Venice-based furniture, product and interior designer Ilan Dei as a forum for discourse between art, nature and technology, invites you to its debut event: "Bio-mimircry and Structural Design."
The presentation will be given by boat builder, winning sailor and professor of oceanography, Mike Leneman.
Mr. Leneman takes inspiration from sea creatures when building his multi-hull sailboats, making them both more efficient and more beautiful.
During his lecture he will reveal the fascinating clues we can take from nature to create sophisticated technology and exciting design.

Beginning April 25, commissaires presents "Like a forest of wire", an exhibit of star designer Kwangho Lee's lighting installations - for the very first time outside South Korea.
Made of electric wire knitted and shaped by Lee, in lengths reaching more than 100 meters, these lamps are possessed of a rare poetry and, in the end, of great simplicity - enthusiastic explorations of how to make extraordinary things out of an everyday material.
They are also part of a design trend in which the focus returns to a production process emphasizing the handcrafted.
This will be a unique chance to see his creations, which range from the small to the imposing, and from very affordable to fairly costly.

Royal Philips Electronics unveiled an innovative range of LED- based solutions for general lighting and scene setting at the Light+Building fair in Frankfurt.
The range includes solutions for all market segments, including home, office, street, shops and hospitality, which will accelerate the market adoption of solid state luminaire systems.
Commenting on Philips presence at Light+Building 2008, Rudy Provoost, CEO of Philips Lighting said: "Over the past two years, we have invested close to 4bn to acquire leading players in solid-state lighting and we now see clearly how synergetic these companies are.
Together with the rapid advances in LED technology, we can now offer a world beating range of LED-based solutions for general illumination and scene setting, which are set to radically change the way we all think about lighting."
LEDs are small, robust and energy efficient.
They are durable and provide many more creative possibilities than conventional lighting in terms of color, dynamics, control and intelligence.
This means that by using LEDs people can do more than ever before to create new moods, scenes and applications to suit their needs.

With all the excitement surrounding today's digital manufacturing technologies, it is interesting to look at an earlier historical moment of workshop mass-production, as practiced by the great French architect and designer Jean Prouve (1901-1984).
This exhibition examines Prouve's collaborations within his Ateliers Jean Prouve from idea to finished product.
Equipped with a skilled creative team and the most advanced manufacturing technologies available, the Ateliers were laboratories where ideas were continuously refined and adapted to produce furnishings and prefabricated buildings on an industrial scale.
The installation focuses on the evolution of the "Standard" Chair and includes other examples of furniture and buildings that demonstrate Prouve's approach to construction and his sensitive handling of materials - particularly his inventive applications of sheet metal.
