 DX Keith Muller Memorial Golf ClassicThis year's tournament is a tribute to Mr. Keith Muller. Sadly Keith passed away this past October. Keith Muller and Muller Design Group are one of Canada's most respected design firms, with an international reputation for award-winning design in several fields including industrial, interior and graphic design. His contribution to the Design Exchange goes back to our beginnings, as Keith was one of our founding members. His support of design and design education also extended to his important work on behalf of the Ontario College of Art and Design. Without a doubt, Keith Muller was both personally and professionally a champion of design, an avid golfer and he will be missed.The proceeds from this year's tournament will support the Design Exchange, a not for profit centre for design, and its important design education programs that nurture a generation of young people with an interest in the field of design. more www.dx....  Eva Zeisel: The Playful Search For BeautyThe Playful Search for Beauty is the third exhibition in the KMA Design Lab series and is the first survey in twenty years of the career and latest work of the eminent designer. The exhibition's title is taken from the artist's own description of her method of working. Zeisel desires to create "things that make our lives pleasurable, comfortable, and elegant." Appropriately, for her designs intended for the home, Zeisel seeks to evoke a warm, familial sense, especially as the pieces "interact."Zeisel, who recently celebrated her ninety-seventh birthday, continues to design for manufacturers in the United States and Europe.  Zest For Life - Fernando and Humberto CampanaAt a time when Brazil is enjoying a cultural renaissance, the Design Museum is presenting the first UK exhibition of the work of Fernando and Humberto Campana, the Brazilian brothers whose vibrant and ingenious objects and furniture are injecting a new energy to design, in Zest for Life - Fernando and Humberto Campana running from 19 June to 12 September 2004.Drawing inspiration from Brazilian street life and carnival culture as well as films and music, the Campanas combine found objects - such as the scraps of wood from a shanty town in their native São Paulo woven into their Favela Chair, and the off-cuts of fabric in their Sushi Chair - with a love of bold colours and seductive forms. They have refined the resourcefulness of the Brazilian poor into a distinctive style imbued with the ebullient spirit of contemporary Brazil, which they describe as a "zest for life". This exhibition traces the evolution of the Campanas' designs by illustrating their influences and working methods.
