![]() Future Mobility: Audi Promotes Intelligent Emotion ProjectAudi looks into the future. Under the title "Intelligent Emotion," students at Munich University of Applied Sciences, aided by Audi, have developed visionary ideas for the mobility of the future - from a hybrid supercar to an alternative concept for lightweight design of interiors.The results are presented in eleven future-oriented concept studies. "The next generation of employees is our future," says Wolfgang Egger, Head of Audi Group Design. "That's why sponsoring design students is one of our high priorities. With the "Intelligent Emotion" project we have obviously inspired them to find new and creative approaches for the future of personal transportation." The project was headed by Dr. Othmar Wickenheiser, Professor of Transportation Design at Munich University of Applied Sciences. Wolfgang Egger and Stefan Sielaff, Head of Audi Design, mentored the project. The objective of the design project was to present Audi as a sporty premium brand as well as a pioneer in technology and design. The balance between innovation and brand recognition was to be represented in a product with great emotional appeal that also conforms to the requirements of society. ![]() Design Promotion in Asia: Cooperation Between Red Dot and the Beijing IDCIn the context of the red dot's design promotion in Asia, Professor Dr. Peter Zec signed a cooperation contract with Mr. Chen Dongliang, Director of the Beijing Industrial Design Center, on 19 March 2009.The memorandum of understanding states that design is to be treated as essential for the economic development in China and that both parties should strengthen and further develop bilateral activities in matters relating to design. red dot will further develop its design promotion activities in China and will help to communicate between international design related companies and the Chinese economy and will be recommending to visit China so as to provide a design service for Chinese enterprises. With the exhibition "red dot meets creative asia" red dot presents the enormous potential of Asian design to a wide audience. From 15 May until 18 May 2009 the exhibition at the "City of Design" Creative Industrial Estate, Central Park, in Shenzhen, shows a selection of awarded Asian products from the internationally renowned red dot design award. With more than 11,000 submissions from over 60 countries, the red dot design award is the largest design competition in the world. Mumble is the answer to the different requests of the market, it is not tied to the traditional concept of the sofa with the back against the wall but main object of the room. Mumble can be arranged in a central position, lined up, as a corner system or as an island, according to the necessity of the client. Mumble is an upholstered sofa that, with its sinuous and wrapping form, guarantees comfort and relax: its different modules, conceived with an ergonomic concept, allows different way of use. A more comfortable seat thanks to the low and soft backside and a more traditional seat for reading thanks to the high backside supporting the shoulders.
