ILO: JOYCabinetmaker Tuulia Penttilä and ceramic artist Anneli Sainio of Fiskars will display a new collection of handcrafted objects of wood and ceramics at Design Forum Finland from 9 February to 2 December 2007.
The title of the exhibition, I L O - J O Y, reflects the joy of shaping clay and constructing things of wood, of pure creative pleasure with respect for the material.
The designers want this joy to be passed on the users of the objects.
Tuulia Penttilä and Anneli Sainio will tell of the origins of ILO - JOY and the background of the collection to the press at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 8 November at Design Forum, Erottajankatu 7.
Tuulia Penttilä (born 1975) is a cabinetmaker and a graduate of the Heinola Institute of Crafts and Applied Arts.
She designs one-off works, small editions and commissioned products.
Tuulia Penttilä has participated in many competitions and joint exhibitions, at Fiskars, Kaapelitehdas - The Cable Factory in Helsinki and the Japanese exhibition tour of the Fiskars Cooperative of Designers, Artisans and Artists in 2006, among other events.
She is an active member of the Fiskars Cooperative.
