Prince Charles Visited Design Departments in Izmir University of EconomicsHRH Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales visited Izmir University of Economics, Departments of Industrial Design as part of his trip to Turkey.
Guided by Prof.Dr. Tevfik Balcıoğlu, the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Asst.Prof.Dr. A. Can Özcan, head of the department of Industrial Design, Prince Charles attended a class of students preparing projects in Industrial Design department's hand tools workshop either for international design competitions, or furniture design, or working on balsa models of cutlery sets for different eating habits and foam models of gardening tools.
His tour also included the Department of Fashion Design where he watched the students' light hearted fashion show on protective clothing.
The fashion show highlighted such environmental issues as global warming, desertification, flooding, earthquakes and population explosion.
