Studio Open: Drawing Back the Curtains on DesignWhile the Melbourne International Design Festival presents a very public celebration of design, behind closed doors designers go about their daily business designing and developing new products and projects.
Studio Open is a very special Festival event which takes a look behind the scenes of popular Melbourne design studios.
In doing so, it encourages an understanding and appreciation of the design profession, how it works and the value that it offers.
On Friday 25 July 2008, students, designers and design-interested individuals are invited to visit participating studios to discover the day-to-day designer-style.
During their visit, people are encouraged to ask questions and investigate the processes involved in bringing a product or project to fruition.
On the day numerous Melbourne design studios (large, small, established and emerging) will lay out their welcome mats for on-the-hour public reviews between 11am and 3pm.
