Confirmation for DerinDerin this year show new pieces in the now reestablished Industria Superstudio in via Forcella 13, presented with great simplicity on lengths of canvas laid out on the floor.
The Turkish company reconfirms qualities demonstrated over the last years: geometric lines that arise from a non rationalist culture, the tradition of which is revealed in a number of aspects - proportions for chairs that reflect an oriental position, strong and varied colours - without sacrificing however comfort and ergonomics, in innovative materials and with contemporary lines.
Also the models that are most along western lines - the Palm and Stop Stool, with structures in metal and expanded polyurethane and a shiny chrome metal base, the first with a slightly concave seat, the second with a footstool in chromed steel with a back - are not in the least banal.
A large number of pieces are presented this year. Aziz Sariyer has designed a series of armchair and sofa Cut and Land made from wood and expanded polyurethane in different densities, shown covered in pink and purple green cloth; the modular system of chairs, Istanbul 2, with a structure in vetroresin, metal, wood and polyurethane, presented with a large circular sofa covered in yellow fabric; the perforated free standing cylinder Bubble in aluminium on wheels, with shelves in coloured and transparent glass, white on the outside, green inside.
By Defne Koz, Table 7/24 in matt or gloss painted wood, with chromed or painted metal legs; by Tanju Ozelgin the desk with drawer and multipurpose table Norm, by Mehmet Ermiyagil a low table in MDF Fly, by Derin Sariyer a set of tables Same, in MDF made from two pieces.
Finally the bookshelves: Triplet 1-2, by Aziz Sariyer, in MDF with a wood or matt or gloss lacquered finish and Rank, TV hi-fi system in MDF, by Bülend Özden, in bright red. L.S.
