Samsung Electronics Products Wins the IDEASamsung Electronics said Friday that five of their products won the 2004 Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA), presented by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
During the 25th IDEA this year, Samsung's 17" liquid crystal display SyncMaster173P and the palm-size circular printer received gold awards. The SyncMaster173P's dual hinge design allows the monitor to lay flat.
The DPL projection TV SVP-50 and 56L7, and the MD1000 microwave oven won silver awards. The screen wallpaper, Samsung Smart Screen, achieved a bronze award.
In including this year's achievements, 19 of Samsung Electronics products have won IDEA awards over the past five years. Samsung Electronics is the most frequent winner of IDEA award, along with the U.S. computer maker Apple.
