Nike Stripe Design Banned For Adidas SimilarityNike Inc has been ordered by a German court to stop selling trousers bearing a two-stripe design because it is too similar to rival Adidas-Salomon's famous three-stripe logo.
The Cologne regional court warned the company that it could be fined up to €250,000 if it continued to sell the garments.
The court has already fined Nike damages of approximately €1 million which will be awarded to Adidas, saying that Nike had infringed upon Adidas's marketing rights.
