Hong Kong Award for Industries 2006Philips has received two prestigious awards from one of the most influential commercial organizations in Asia.
The Philips WACS700 Wireless Music Centre & Station and the SHS850 Outdoor Corded Headphone have both been recognized in the Consumer Product Design category.
The Hong Kong Awards for Industries was officially created in 2005 by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), which merged the existing Hong Kong Awards for Industry and the Hong Kong Awards for Services.
Philips was a regular winner of the Hong Kong Awards for Industry, which came into being in 1989.
The merged awards scheme continues to encourage excellence and promote successful practices and strategies in different aspects of industrial performance within the Hong Kong region.
The award website talks about recognizing the "outstanding achievements of Hong Kong enterprises in their move towards higher technology and higher value-added activities."
