Weird Science: Nissan Hints at Auto Design in 2015A stark white interior that looks like an arcade game and a UFO-like concept car that appears to have been spawned in Area 51 are two of the futuristic concepts unveiled on Thursday by Nissan in a European design competition.
Nine design students from Pforzheim University in Germany presented their vision of what vehicles will look like in 2015 at the company's European design headquarters.
The students were asked to define future lifestyles and needs and what impact they would have on automotive design.
Nissan says the students were given two guiding words - "bold" and "thoughtful" - to keep in mind as they began their work.
The future designers were charged with coming up with concepts that would define the Nissan brand in 10 years, especially in the context of global competition.
