2006 Muriel Cooper Prize awarded by DMI to Masamichi Udagawa

The Design Management Institute is proud to announce that Masamichi Udagawa, a partner at Antenna Design New York, Inc., has been awarded the 2006 Muriel Cooper Award.

This prestigious award recognises outstanding achievement in advancing design, technology, and communications and honours an individual, who like Muriel Cooper herself, challenges our understanding and experience of interactive digital communication.

This award was presented to Mr. Udagawa at DMI's 18 International Brand Design Conference, 17-19 May in Montreal.

"Mr. Udagawa's work in advancing design technology and communications is truly outstanding.

It is an honour to award him this prize," said Thomas Lockwood, President of DMI.

"He is only the fourth designer to be recognized with this prestigious award over the years and this award demonstrates DMI's continued support of the advancement of design and design thinking throughout the world."

Designer, educator, researcher, Muriel Cooper was one of the most influential modern designers of the 20 century.

This award honours Muriel Cooper who, as co-founder and late director of MIT Media Lab's Visual Language Workshop, explored the concept of three-dimensionality to imagine new ways to structure complex systems of knowledge.
