Drawing by Drawing at the Center for Architecture

Drawing by Drawing at the Center for Architecture

Originally presented at the Danish Architecture Centre in Copenhagen, Drawing by Drawing presents more than 100 architectural drawings by over 30 architects from Europe and the United States.

The drawings in the exhibition include examples that reflect on the history of architectural drawing, using techniques and language employed by architects for hundreds of years, alongside drawings that take advantage of some of the most advanced technology available today.

The architects in Drawing by Drawing all share the common bond of having been friends and colleagues of the Norwegian architect Svein Tønsager, who passed away in 2006.

Connected by Tonsager's influence these architects explored the relationship of architecture and architectural drawing through their work, teaching, and writing. The pieces in the exhibition continue this exploration.
