The Emancipation of Everything: IIDA NY Lecture to Analyze Impact of Societal Trends on Design

On Monday, May 8th, the New York Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA NY) will host Pioneering Design: The Emancipation of Everything, a lecture that will analyze the consumer attitudes, lifestyles, and economic trends of 2017 impacting design.

Design has the ability to respond to the change in consumer's needs, expectations, and attitudes based upon the societal and global trends impacting our lives. Philip Fimmano, Director of the New York-based creative studio Edelkoort Inc., will use this lecture as an opportunity to inspire design professionals to look at the forces shaping society and how they impact their work. Philip is a contemporary design and lifestyle specialist who works in the textile, interior, food, luxury, travel and retail industries and co-founded Talking Textiles, an initiative to promote the innovation of textiles through touring exhibitions and educational programs - which now forms part of the New York Textile Month each September.
