Bang & Olufsen uses a wider range of materials than most other companies in the industry.

Yet, for many years, aluminium has played a more important role than any other in defining Bang & Olufsen products.

The company's competences within aluminium surface treatment are unique due to its highly advanced skills within processes such as diamond cutting and anodizing.

At Bang & Olufsen, all aluminium surfaces are anodized; anodizing being a surface treatment that creates a durable protection layer, making the surface of the aluminium both robust and scratch-resistant like porcelain glaze.

In connection with the anodizing processes, Bang & Olufsen has invented BeoSpray, which is a highly advanced dyeing process which makes it possible to dye aluminium in more than 250 colour nuances.
