Bang & Olufsen uses a wider range of materials than most other companies in the industry.
Only real materials such as aluminium, glass, rubber and wood are used, however, and all materials are carefully selected for their quality and ability to fit naturally into any home environment.
Yet, for many years, aluminium has played a more important role than any other in defining Bang & Olufsen products.
The company's competences within aluminium surface treatment are unique due to its highly advanced skills within processes such as diamond cutting and anodizing.
At Bang & Olufsen, all aluminium surfaces are anodized; anodizing being a surface treatment that creates a durable protection layer, making the surface of the aluminium both robust and scratch-resistant like porcelain glaze.
In connection with the anodizing processes, Bang & Olufsen has invented BeoSpray, which is a highly advanced dyeing process which makes it possible to dye aluminium in more than 250 colour nuances.
This is an important tool to the freelance designers with whom Bang & Olufsen is constantly working to develop new product concepts and also new colour schemes for its current product range.
