LG Corporate Design Center is the Design Team of the Year 2006The LG Corporate Design Center is the design team of the year 2006.
This is only the second time that the highest distinction of the renowned red dot design award, which is awarded by an international jury, goes to the design department of an Asian company.
Sony is the only Asian company who previously managed to get this title in 2000.
With the distinction "design team of the year" the red dot design award has annually honoured a design team which is characterised by continuously innovative design, thus setting standards, since 1988.
The title "design team of the year" has been won in the past by companies such as Apple, adidas, Pininfarina, Mercedes-Benz, Nokia, Audi and frogdesign.
The festive awards presentation of the red dot award: product design 2006 including the speech in honour of the LG Corporate Design Center by the laudatory speaker Giorgetto Giugiaro, president of Italdesign Giugiaro, will take place on 26 June 2006 in the Essen Opera House, the Aalto Theatre.
