Renault Scenic Wins Wheels Interior Design AwardRenault's innovative Scenic has won Interior Design of the Year in the 2006 Wheels Magazine Automotive Design Awards.
The Scenic was selected for its inventive functionality, spacious interior, comfort, storage solutions and practicality from a field of 14 finalists.
The award, judged by prominent motoring and design authorities, recognises the Scenic's innovative interior design which creates a functional and comfortable space for up to five passengers.
The judges praised the Scenic's "thoroughness and thoughtfulness of interior design" and the "orgy of surprise and delight features".
According to Ged Bulmer, editor of Wheels Magazine, "The Scenic possessed innovation, visual impact and appeal, detail design, control location and clarity."
The Scenic was designed and manufactured in France and since its launch, over one million vehicles have been sold world-wide.
The stylish five-seat multi-purpose vehicle is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and is available with either a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox.
The Scenic also offers five-star safety with it's combination of active and passive safety features, including dual adaptive front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags and curtain airbags, plus ABS brakes with brake assist.
