The New York office of international design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman has been commissioned by the Indian School of Business for a 70-acre, 1.5M sf new business school campus as part of a 300-acre "Knowledge City" in Chandigarh, Mohali, India.

The sustainable campus will accommodate four centers of excellence: healthcare management, public policy, manufacturing / operations, and physical infrastructure management.

Facilities will comprise an academic classroom, library, student and faculty housing, recreation and common facilities.

Construction is expected to be complete in 2012.

"We are so proud to be a part of the future and growth of the Indian School of Business.

In 2008, ISB ranked the '20th best business school' in the world by the Financial Times, last year it ranked 15th." says Principal in Charge Aaron B. Schwarz, FAIA.

Furthering,"This project will respond to the unique cultural, climatic, economic, and construction aspects of the region and its design image will match its brand image of having teaching world class teaching reputation."

Located on the edge of the rapidly developing Chandigarh metropolitan area, Perkins Eastman envisions a campus that could exist as a largely self-contained complex, opening as the surrounding development and infrastructure are implemented.
